Drum Building and Rhythm Weekend
With the Drum Brothers from Montana
May 11 - 13, 2007, Friday evening through Sunday afternoon
Special weekend workshop is available for all ages and ability levels.
If you have a heart beat, you have rhythm! The body, mind, and spirit cannot help but respond to the call of the beat. There are rhythms pulsing within us and around us, through our breath and heartbeat, and through the dance of our lives in the world. Come feel the power of rhythm shared in a circle of friends. Put your own spirit and energy into a drum that you make yourself!
Choose one of two options: drum building or rhythm exploration:
1. Drum Builders will be assembling a 12x24 Ashiko drum, a dynamic sounding conical hand drum with a goat skin head thats ideal for playing a variety of world rhythms.
2. The rhythm exploration option will include evening drum circles and hand drumming and rhythm awareness classes.
We begin on Friday, May 11th, with a 7 pm drum circle and community celebration.
The drum building and rhythm classes will begin on Saturday morning. The task of drum building will be broken up into three separate 3 hour blocks. On Saturday the materials will be prepared and the drum will be assembled. Evening drum circle Saturday at 7:30 pm. The last block on Sunday will be for the final tightening of the drum and finishing touches. Closing circle on Sunday after lunch (Individual drum shells will be pre-made by Drum Brother Dave in Arlee, Montana).

Dreaming the Earths Dream
Humanity is part of the earths dream. Yet the human species behaves as though it has a dream separate from earth. Alienated from peculiar earth values we do business and industry in a way that has exacerbated the disconnection.
This retreat is about learning to dream earths dream. It is not about saving earth, it is about saving us. It is not about environmentalism, but about our human self connecting with soul and with earth.
The goals and methodology of the weekend include:
1. healing our disconnection through bioenergetics and other body-mind modalities; enjoying the sensual earthy aspects of being human
2. meditation, gazing and communing with nature to see beauty, richness and perfection
3. connecting with each other by recognizing and celebrating our divinity in each other.
Bring layered clothing, journals, and other media you use for creative expression and a drum if you have one. You will be offered nutritious, diet-sensitive meals, professional facilitation, comfortable accommodation and time for solace.
Miksau is situated on beautiful, lakeshore land buffered by bush so that your experience is truly an immersion. This is an invitation to surrender to a most sensual and spiritual experience.
Journal Writing Process Skills
Writing can be an integral part of healing and meeting lifes challenges with grace. This weekend retreat provides skills, tools and techniques to aid that process. With the help of guided imagery, solitude and attention to your own situation, you will be able to establish a writing project that works for you. Journals with tools and process questions will be supplied. Wear comfortable clothing and come prepared for an experience that both deepens your sense of self and opens you up to a wonderful newness in you.
Shalom Retreat is an intensive and liberating growth experience. The aim of the Shalom process, complemented by Bioenergetic techniques, is to empower us to be more awake, loving, and alert to life. Loving is an art and the skills of loving can be learned. First we need to release old armoring that has prevented us from feeling free. Then our capacity for joy, self-expression, creativity, passion, spontaneity, and authenticity increases.
To deepen our experience we create a sacred and intentionally loving community, founded on our recognition of another's right to think and feel as he/she does, seeing and hearing another, and being fully present. When progressing on the spiritual journey, a Shalom Retreat offers a portal into deeper spiritual resources and collective knowledge of the invisible realms. In an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and respect, all paths are honored and all wisdom you bring is welcomed. Since these are intense personal spiritual growth experiences, an interview (or letter from your therapist if youre in therapy) is required before acceptance into the retreat.
Aukje has been a participant in Shalom Retreats at Shalom Mountain (NY) since 1981, and has been mentored and commissioned by its founder Gerald Jud. Details on Shalom process and techniques as well as endorsement from her mentor and participants are available on request.
Coming Home to Our Senses: A Relationship Retreat
How did we come to separate spirituality from sensuality? It is an illusory separation. Perceiving ourselves to be incomplete we look for a mate or other external ways to feel complete. This retreat is designed to help us recognize our wholeness. As whole persons, self and soul, we release ourselves from needing any and all co-dependent relationships. We relate without fear of losing ourselves in intimate contact; we claim our full power as men and women. Although ideal for couples it is for anyone wishing to explore relationship issues.
The goals and methodology of this retreat include:
1. Bioenergetic and other body-mind modalities to help us clear the channel of communication between our intuitive and assertive natures. Old patterning, fears and armoring can be let go as we find a core connection within.
2. Talking, writing, meditating and processing, together and in solitude will help us find a balanced state while we integrate projections that have caused the gender divisions
Bring journals, other media that you use to be creative and comfortable clothing.
Our desire for peace does not necessarily give us peace. Political activism is not for everyone. If fear promotes conflict, then our desire to be the change we want to see happen in the world, draws us to seek an inner resolution of our own fears.
This live-in weekend retreat allows for a unique attentiveness to our collective needs for solace, congruency and inner peace, with serene surroundings, We will:
A Spiritual Warrior is someone who addresses and enters the pain of the inner battle in order to heal the rift between self and soul awk
Please bring journals and wear comfortable clothing. You will be offered a unique live-in experience that allows a focus on your inner work, time for solitude, nutritious, diet-sensitive meals, and comfortable accommodation.
